There is major change afoot in the haulage sector next year, which might affect you and your clients.
Allianz is pulling out of the market in February 2025 with removal of their Truck product, leaving many brokers concerned about future coverage. At the same time, we are seeing premiums rise with Aviva, who have previously employed aggressive market pricing to secure their market share. They are now increasing premiums for clients, many significantly, which looks set to continue throughout 2025. Please get in touch if you would like an alternative quote.
According to the Road Haulage Association (RHA), in the UK 98% of all food and agricultural products and 89% of all freight is still being moved by road.
It’s a highly competitive sector and the UK haulage industry as a whole is evolving to adapt to complex demands, from sustainability changes to supply chain and workforce management. The impact of Brexit is still being felt in the haulage industry, particularly regarding the ongoing driver shortage.
The Office for National Statistics estimates that almost half a million driver qualification cards are set to expire in 2024, necessitating significant efforts to manage in 2025 and beyond. Insurance policies are changing with it.
